Claremont and the Chocolate Factory
A group of Year 11s must have felt like they’d won a Golden Ticket when they were lucky enough to visit a real-life chocolate factory on 27th September 2024. It was all part of a Business Studies trip to Cadbury World in Birmingham, home of Cadbury’s chocolate for well over a hundred years.
The students have already completed a considerable part of their syllabus, learning a broad range of business theory to build a knowledge of core concepts and then apply these to different business contexts. The trip to Birmingham was a fantastic opportunity for them to apply that knowledge, and maybe sample one or two sweet treats along the way.
‘A visit to Cadbury World is more than just a taste of chocolate,’ explains Ms Shah, who led the trip, ‘it’s a lesson in innovation and branding that shows students how passion and creativity drives successful businesses. It's a sweet reminder that behind every great product lies a story waiting to be told.’
The students certainly seemed to enjoy it…
‘We loved tasting the chocolate and learning about Cadbury’s branding over the years, including all their advertising campaigns,’ says Bhakti Hirani.
‘It was an enlightening experience,’ adds Ishaan Patel. ‘The best part was the 4D “Chocolate Adventure” cinema.’
A day trip, chocolate and the cinema…? Now we’re all wishing we had a Golden Ticket!
