Claremont's Got Talent!

Mr Lipman, Head of Colleges, reflects on a night to remember…

On Wednesday 11th December 2024, the stage at Claremont High School came alive with dazzling performances, electric energy and a showcase of the incredible talent that thrives within our school community. Claremont's Got Talent was a resounding success, marking the culmination of months of meticulous planning and preparation by our exceptional Year 13 College Captains: Shreeya Rughani, Yashvi Shah, Karma-Menan Lazare, Niharika Jani and Andrei Galitosbancianu.

The journey began with auditions held across the school, during which the Captains carefully selected eight standout acts from Years 7 to 12 to perform in the grand final. With weeks of mentoring and coaching, these performers honed their acts and the results were nothing short of spectacular. The talent on display truly captured the spirit and creativity of Claremont.

The evening itself was a masterclass in entertainment. Hosted with charisma and flair by the College Captains, the show was judged by a distinguished panel of teachers: Mr Goddard, Mr Michaelides, Ms A Patel and Mr WarrenAdding to the excitement was an audience vote, ensuring that everyone present had a chance to cheer for their favourites.

Congratulations to all the participants and talent on display: Tiffany Yip 13.7; Shayieka Constable 8.7 and Shaa-Myia Shallow 8.3; Ghazwa Guerfallah 8.9; Emilian Mutafchev, 7.8; Marc Ghinea 13.1, Dannio Cao 12.1, Allyzandro Rodrigues 11.2, Kavinu Gallage 11.1; Anusha Pandya 7.10; Ronli Singhawansa 8.2 and Ronaq Singhawansa 9.8; and Riley Wong 7.5.

The success of the event was testament to the hard work and effort shown by our brilliant team of Year 13 College Captains. The performers proved that Claremont really does have talent, and it was a pleasure to watch and be part of.

College Captain Karma-Menan Lazare said afterwards: ‘Never would we have thought we’d get the honour of running a whole school show, but I’m so glad we did - Claremont’s Got Talent was amazing to run! It took so much hard work and commitment - communication was key - but the Captains pulled through and managed to host an outstanding night. Every time we checked up on our talented acts, we could see them grow in confidence and technique. We were delighted!’

Thank you again to everyone who participated, supported and cheered. Claremont's Got Talent truly highlighted the strength of our school community and the incredible potential within our students. We can’t wait to see what the future brings!
