Get the latest news and reports from Claremont High School’s young correspondents

There are just so many incredible things happening at Claremont each week – matches, performances, trips, to name only a few – it’s difficult to keep up with it all! We needed more people to cover this and make sure nothing was missed.

Meet the Student Reporters… Eleven intrepid pupils recruited from Years 8 to 10, all of them Prefects and all of them keen to bring you the very best news stories. They met for the first time on 7th June to take part in a training session led by Mr Francis, who edits these pages. They learnt about identifying a story, interviewing the people involved and meeting deadlines.

‘I enjoyed furthering my understanding of journalism,’ says Kheya Shah in Year 10. ‘I took away lots of key information on how to be an effective, interesting journalist. I’m looking forward to starting the process of writing my own article and seeing it published.’

Aarav Shah in Year 8 was equally enthusiastic: ‘I found the training session fascinating and learnt lots about newspaper article writing.’

In the coming weeks, the roving reporters will be covering events both at home and abroad – from new students at Claremont, to old ones visiting Belgium and Spain. In its scope and reach, the school is truly international! So watch this space and keep up-to-date with all the latest Claremont news… Remember, you heard it here first!
