The big freeze
Winter comes early to Claremont as students prepare for the next school show
On 1st and 2nd October, the Main Hall was a flurry of activity - towns people mixed with palace staff and ‘Hidden Folk’ as they all vied for a place in the cast of this year’s school production: Frozen, based upon Disney’s hit film and stage show of the same name.
Over 150 students from across the year groups took part in the auditions, which were spread over two days – one for KS3, the other for KS4 and 5. Those auditioning had to do some acting, singing and dance. The Creative Team found it hard to make a decision, but finally the cast list was announced on 9th October. Rehearsals have already started in preparation for the performances from 5th to 7th March next year, when the hall will be transformed into the magical world of Arendelle.
‘As always it's really amazing to see the breadth of talent from across our school, as well as the excitement and enthusiasm for our Annual School Production,’ said Mr Lipman following the auditions. ‘The casting has been incredibly difficult and we hope that everyone involved feels they have an opportunity to develop and grow as performers, friends and professionals. We’d like to extend a massive “well done” and “thank you” to everyone who auditioned this year as doing so is an achievement in itself. We are very excited to start work on this production and looking forward to sharing the magic of Frozen with everyone in 2025!’
