Eco Schools

🌍 Welcome to Claremont's  Eco-Schools News Page! 🌿

Here, Mr Sewell (Teacher of Geography) and Ms Cairns (Teacher of French and German) will be posting all the latest updates, achievements, and activities from our journey towards a greener, more sustainable future. From eco-projects and environmental campaigns to student-led initiatives and community partnerships, this is your go-to spot for everything eco-friendly happening at our school.

Together, we’re making a difference—one small action at a time!

The Claremont sustainable way

In line with the Claremont Way, Claremont has adopted a new set of guidelines to abide by.  Awareness, Behaviour and Care are the core values that underpin this Sustainable Way.

The Green Leaders

We have rebranded our brand new Eco Committee as the Green Leaders. In this club, we will be organising school-wide inter-college competitions, events linked to helping our school environment become more sustainable and providing support with our various sustainable schemes such as Recycling Monitors, Gardening Club and litter picking.

Recycling monitors

All of our KS3 and KS4 classrooms have now appointed Recycling Monitors whose jobs are to empty our classroom recycling bins every week, ensuring we take an active part in making our school more sustainable. We will be rolling this out in the coming weeks to the whole school, getting Claremont one step closer to reducing our Carbon Footprint!

Inter-college Competitions

As part of the Green Leaders' initiatives, Claremont is hosting its first inter-college competition - Build an Endangered Sea Animal from recycled materials. A great opportunity to mix creativity with bringing awareness to destruction of marine wildlife, and an excellent chance to earn some college points!
