A happy place full of smiles!
Claremont students are up on their feet to feel the rhythm of the night
It’s one of the most keenly-anticipated events of the year at Claremont High School, certainly one of its hottest tickets, and the 2025 RUSH dance showcase on 1st May did not disappoint! It had everything, from Bollywood and Bhangra to ‘Best Gyals’ and ‘Chk Chk Boom’.
‘RUSH gets better each year!’ says Ms Carter, who organises the event alongside Ms Grandjean. ‘The show is an amazing opportunity to share the love and passion we all have for dance. RUSH is always full of fun, kindness, positivity and support for one another. This year was no different - it was lovely to see so many different styles of dance! The level of creativity the students show continues to amaze me. We are so proud of them all.’
‘As a Year 7 student, I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity to express myself through dance,’ says Keira Bhanderi 7.9. ‘The challenge was overcoming my fear of dancing in front of lots of people, but the best thing about RUSH was that I was able to collaborate with people of different ages. The teachers allowed us to learn at our own pace and it turned into a fabulous show - a happy place full of smiles!’
Ms Grandjean was clearly pleased with this year’s showcase: ‘RUSH never fails to make me fall in love with dance over and over again. It's a show about self-expression, acceptance and joy. The cheers and the laughs are so energizing and we always leave the stage feeling invincible and proud. The show embodies what Claremont does best - bringing people from all walks of live together and enabling them to show their true selves.’
