Claremont High School Academy

A real buzz

Head of PE, Mr Peace, champions positive competition at Claremont

Inter-College Weeks are special events at Claremont where students from different colleges compete against each other in sports. Each night of the week, a different year group takes part. Round One saw the boys play football and the girls play netball.

The competitions are not just about winning – they’re designed to encourage participation, build community spirit and let everyone have some fun together. Because all the events happen in the same week, it creates a real buzz around school and students are already excited for Round Two after the half-term holiday.

The purpose of Inter-College Weeks is to bring students together by encouraging participation, teamwork and community spirit. While the competitions are challenging, the main aim is for everyone to get involved, enjoy themselves and strengthen the sense of belonging within the school.

In the weeks and months ahead, we’ve got even more inter-college competitions to look forward to. After half-term, the next round of events will take place, giving every year group another chance to represent their house in football (for girls) and basketball (for boys).

The Inter-College Weeks have been a fantastic way to bring the school together, with students showing great effort, teamwork and enthusiasm. The balance between competition and fun has created real excitement, and it’s clear that the event is already a highlight of the school year. We can’t wait to see even more students getting involved next time.
