Dressed to impress
Mr Goddard explains the significance of Cultural Dress Day
Friday 27th March 2026 was a riot of colour at Claremont High School as it celebrated a decade of Cultural Dress Day.
This annual event is a special day where students come to school wearing traditional clothing that represents their culture, heritage or background. It’s a way to celebrate diversity and learn more about the different communities that make up the school. By seeing a wide range of outfits, colours and styles, students can appreciate how culture influences clothing and identity, while also sharing their own traditions with others.
Staff and students alike love and appreciate the day and as always it brought a positive atmosphere to the school. Everyone made an effort and it was great to see so many people proudly expressing their culture. It also helps students feel included and respected, while encouraging conversations and curiosity about different backgrounds. Overall, it was a memorable day that helped bring everyone together, making the school feel more united, and was a great way to celebrate the end of the Spring Term.
Thank you to all the staff, pupils and parents who took part and made the day possible. Here’s to the next ten years!
