Claremont High School limbers up for this year’s sporting challenge
Never mind Wimbledon, one of the biggest sporting events of this time of year – certainly around Kenton – is Claremont High School’s annual Sports Day. On Thursday 10th July 2025, staff and students alike braved the record temperatures at Harrow School Sports Centre to take part in the various track and field events – everything from relay races to shot-put, discus and tug of war.
Dressed in their college colours, Emerald, Gold, Sapphire and Scarlet went head-to-head to see who the ultimate champions would be. And the results are in...
Year 7
1st Scarlet
2nd Gold
3rd Emerald
4th Sapphire
Year 8
1st Scarlet
2nd Emerald
3rd Gold
4th Sapphire
Year 9
1st Scarlet
2nd Emerald
3rd Gold
4th Sapphire
Year 10
1st Scarlet
Joint 2nd Emerald and Gold
4th Sapphire
But for the overall winning college, you’ll have to wait until September!
Sports Days is certainly a busy one for all involved, with students competing and staff fulfilling all the various roles: track supervisors, timekeepers, results runners and more. No wonder everyone was run off their feet by the end of the day!
Mr Peace, who organises the day’s event, was very pleased.
‘Sports Day was a fantastic celebration of athletic talent, teamwork and school spirit. It was amazing to see so much colour, with students representing their colleges proudly. Our pupils showed outstanding effort and impeccable behaviour throughout the day - true champions on and off the field.’
Forget Wimbledon… Harrow’s where the action is!
