Claremont High School Academy

One moment in time

Claremont High School celebrates an outstanding couple of days

Inspections are a snapshot in time or, as Ofsted put it, ‘a point-in-time judgement about the quality of a school’s education provision’. They report on what they see on the two days they’re on site - it doesn’t matter what came before or after. As such, the result may seem arbitrary. But when a school establishes a proven track-record, it can be seen as an accurate and lasting impression of its achievement.

Claremont High School’s 2025 Ofsted result – ‘Outstanding in all categories’ – follows two previous ‘Outstanding’ judgements, in 2015 and 2010 respectively, and is testament to the values and ambitions of this exceptional school over two decades.

‘We are absolutely delighted to have received our third consecutive “Outstanding” grading from Ofsted,’ said Executive Headteacher, Ms Hyde-Boughey. ‘This achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students and the strong support of our parents and community. I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved. It’s a moment of real pride for Claremont and reflects our continued commitment to excellence in education.’

Some of the many positive comments from the report include:

  • Claremont High School successfully strives to prioritise academic excellence while fostering the development of the whole individual, preparing pupils extremely well for their future.
  • Pupils receive high-quality teaching that enables them to thrive. They thoroughly enjoy attending school, have very strong attitudes to learning and behave extremely well.
  • Pupils achieve highly and students in the sixth form excel, particularly in academic subjects.
  • Leaders, trustees and governors have a demonstrable commitment to ensuring that pupils excel, academically and personally. They expertly fulfil their respective roles and maintain robust oversight of the school’s work.

‘On behalf of all the governors, I would like to congratulate the Executive Headteacher, senior leaders, staff and pupils of Claremont High School Academy on achieving this fantastic result!’ said the Chair of Governors, Olivia Louisy. ‘They have all been able to consistently uphold such high standards and this is a huge testament to the hard work and dedication put in by everyone, with the continued support of parents. I am thrilled for the school and look forward to seeing all staff and pupils continue to flourish and build on their success.’

This has been the aim of Claremont’s dedicated team of teachers and leaders over many years: to provide exceptional education not only yesterday and today, but, with care and attention, long into the future. This isn’t just a snapshot, it’s an album of more good days to come - all the many outstanding moments in time.
