Simply phenomenal

Mr Lipman reports on a recent theatre trip

On Thursday 30th January 2025, the Drama Department took GCSE Drama students in years 10 and 11 to see Blood Brothers at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. This was an amazing opportunity to not only engage in live theatre, but to see their Component 1 set-text performed live on stage.

We travelled by coach to the venue and the students had an amazing time. They really enjoyed seeing the actors interpret the roles, especially young Mickey Johnstone. It's given them a huge amount of extra knowledge and insight as they prepare for their mock and final exams.

Blood Brothers was an amazing experience, which was very helpful to see,’ says Dev Pindoria in 10.2. ‘It was really interesting to see how each actor performed their role and how the sets were designed. It was so helpful to experience a professional performance and take tips from the actors to expand our own acting skills.’

‘My favourite part by far was the gun scene, because I loved how tense it was,’ adds Alexandra Gavrau in 10.4. ‘Watching Blood Brothers live was an experience I will never forget. It was simply phenomenal!’
